Robot-making process [8] arm

[Robot Making 8]

The robot arms are now being made. These parts are somewhat easy to work compared to other parts. However, they should be made solid and robust since they have to go into action more frequently than others during the filming process.

Let's begin with the shoulders.

The both parts should be shaped like this.

Then, with bolts, combined the parts to the upper sides of the robot. After that, two motors are attached into the parts(one in each) by bolts.

Distribute wires from the motors to the controller, then the robot shoulder is complete.

Now, the upper arms will begin with these aluminium plane figures.

After bending them into these,

combine them to the shoulder motors with bolts as in the picture. The upper arms finish if two motor are attached to each of the plane.

The forearms begin with these two figures.

First, shape them into these forms.

And, connect them to motors, then forearms are complete.

The picture below shows the robot with two upper arm motors and two forearm motors attached.

It's getting more human-like.
